IT STARTS WITH

An endless passion for culture, the Newari vibrations
For the discovery of rock music fused together with the roots

Identity mattered the most in the 90s, and the singers of that era were known for their unique vocal textures. Surendra Man Singh, the frontman of Karma, whose raspy vocals helped cement the legacy of Karma band, brought out “Hukka Mero”, “Yani Maya”, “Kaha Hola Ghar Bara”, and other immortal songs that defined the 90s and the 2000s. Nepali rock fusion with traditional Newari rhythms found a home with Karma, and Karma’s fame is now known for electrifying guitars mixed with folk instruments. In every song, every show, every fanfare, and in every ballyhoo – Karma displays the authentic Newari music while pulling the crowd from every genre.

Karma’s numbers from the 90s and the 2000s still resonates strong in the hearts of music connoisseurs – and yet Gen Z and further can still sing-along to Surendra Man Singh, as he ascends the stage to create a vibration that floats the air and brings an pandemonium in the crowd
